Edinburgh Community Sponsorship Homes is managed by our Trustees. We have a wide range of experience in different fields, including in the third sector, academia and public service.

Our Trustees

Fae Mira Gerlach
Co-founder and Coordinator of Edinburgh Refugee Sponsorship Circle, Co-chair of the Edinburgh New Scots Steering group, guest lecturer at University of Edinburgh and Alice Salomon Hochschule (Berlin), Grant Manager and Interim Head of Edinburgh Trust. Fae comes with over 12 years of experience in Community Organising, Organisation building and work for and with people in displacement across Europe. She has a passion for Collective Care, human-centred and sustainable organisational cultures and FOOD.​​​

Sarah Story
Co- Chair of Edinburgh Refugee Sponsorship Circle, with over 10 years of experience working with displaced people providing legal and human rights info, she is co-founder and former director of refugee info bus - a charity that provided vital news, as well as practical and legal info to refugees who had recently arrived in Greece and Northern France. Currently Sarah works as an Independent Child Trafficking guardian, based in Edinburgh, as part of the national child trafficking support service delivered by the Scottish Refugee Council and Aberlour Children’s charity.

Dr Regina Serpa
Lecturer in housing studies at the University of Stirling and author of the book ‘Migrant Homelessness and the Crimmigration Control System.’ As a housing practitioner and academic she has dedicated her career to addressing homelessness amongst individuals and families who have a migration background.

Caroline Part
Business manager of South of Scotland Community Housing, which provides long-term support and advice to community organisations to deliver community-led housing. Caroline’s role is financial management - overseeing grants and end of year spending.

Muiris Ó Floinn
A civil servant with nearly a decade of experience across the UK Government, including working on Financial Inclusion and Cooperative policy in the Treasury. Muiris has also been a volunteer with Edinburgh Refugee Sponsorship Circle since 2024.
